Roboworld announces Pendant Armor protective frames for robot teach pendants
October 18, 2017 - Roboworld has unveiled its Pendant Armor protective frame, which is designed to protect robot teach pendants from damage when accidentally dropped. Much like a case for a smart phone or tablet, Pendant Armor protects the most vulnerable component in the machine-user interface.
Repairing a teach pendant can cost between $2,000-$12,000, and if one is rendered useless, replacement costs can easily double or triple this expense. That leaves a manufacturer vulnerable to a costly shutdown, resulting in idled workers and unplanned maintenance expenses.
Pendant Armor is manufactured from chemical-resistant Santoprene and guards the teach pendant from common workplace hazards such as drops, spills, and extreme manufacturing conditions. The bumpers are designed and engineered to fit a variety of OEM architectures, and preserve 100 percent operability and access to the pendant’s keypad, flash drives and switchgear.
