HARTING releases Ha-VIS RF-R300 RFID reader

June 29, 2016 – With a cast aluminum housing and M12 connectors built in, the Ha-VIS RF-R300 mid-range UHF RFID reader from HARTING has been designed for reliable performance in rough environments in warehousing, transportation, manufacturing and more. By employing the RF-R300 in its RFID data network, a user can pinpoint which loads are on conveyor belts, which products are on the assembly line or which train is at the platform. The RF-R300 has Power over Ethernet (PoE) and eight configurable IOs. It boasts a maximum UHF output power of 500 mW at its two antenna ports, and supports several UHF antenna types, both standard ones as well as unique products like HARTING’s flexible, traveling wave, Ha-VIS LOCFIELD.
The Ha-VIS RFID Reader RF-R300 is based on a MICA platform with a simple web interface. The RF-R300 also uses a modular software concept that allows it to support various communication protocols such as LLRP, OPC-UA and MQTT as well as customer-specific protocols. This is made possible by a modular software container concept based on embedded virtual computing. A Linux based system contains the actual function containers, which can be replaced if necessary.
The Ha-VIS RF-R300 is a small reader tested to meet industry and railway standards. Designed for a long lifetime, this reader is ideal for the harshest environments.
