The new B&R Automation Studio Version V2.3 has been completely refined and once again provides the user with a multitude of new functions and improvements. Among other things, this new version helps the user avoiding unnecessary software idle times and optimizes program runtimes. Automation Studio™, the core package in Automation Software™, provides the Profiler which is able to precisely capture runtimes for all user program sections and system software. Measurement results can be displayed in a table in the form of minimum, maximum, and average values, or they can be displayed graphically in the form of curves. This allows program sections which have the longest runtimes to then be optimized. The Automation Runtime AR010 controller software guarantees a uniform runtime environment for Automation Studio™ and enables Windows® XP and true real-time applications to be operated simultaneously. Automation Studio™ is used to program real-time applications on Automation Runtime AR010 with compatibility to all other B&R controller families. Programs can now take advantage of bumpless downloads which prevent process interruptions which may have occurred when changes in program code were implemented. Bumpless donwnloads minimize standstills caused by program changes which in turn eliminates delay times and saves the user money.Using the Process Visual Interface (PVI) transfer tool, the final application can be transferred from a PC together with the operating system for series production to either a Compact Flash or a autorun CD-ROM.
