By working with aliases, the user can restrict full access to your ePLC-based systems while granting access to a reduced set of parameters. ePalm contains a spreadsheet-style interface and allows you to manage a list of aliases. These aliases allow you to set control limits and generate alarms if any system variable is out of control.ePalm requires the following:Palm OS 3.5 or later handheld computer Palm data cable to interface your handheld computer with your PLC or Modbus Device MODBUS Operating System required for ePLCs Valid registration code RS232 communications The ePalm software offers password protection allowing the user to only scroll through the aliases. No further changes to the ePLC settings are possible without password access. This mode is used to prevent unauthorized users from changing ePLC settings as well as preventing mistakes by authorized users.The user of ePalm can do the following:read an ePLC register write to an ePLC register turn an internal relay coil on / off read status of internal relay coil read discrete input status Entertron is offering a "no expiration" license. Meaning that once a license for a specific PDA is purchased, there is no renewal required. The only time ePalm would have to be purchased again, would be for a feature based upgrade. Bug upgrades are no charge. ePalm will run for 30 days without registration.
