ODVA To Hold Press Conference

When: Monday, 19 April 2004 - 3:00 to 4:00 PM, Reception Following Where: Dresden Room, Ground Floor of Conference Center Hannover Exhibition Grounds - Hannover, GermanyODVA will be holding a press conference in conjunction with Hannover Messe 2004 on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 3:00 PM. ODVA will be providing updates on the current activities of the association in Europe and around the world and on technical developments for its networks based on the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP(tm)). This update will include a progress report on its CIP Safety(tm) initiative including major milestones and a preview of planned specification enhancements to CIP Sync for distributed motion control applications. CIP Safety meets the requirements of IEC 61508 up to SIL 3 and will allow users to expand the application coverage of DeviceNet and EtherNet/IP to safety networks. CIP Sync provides synchronization services based on the IEEE 1588 standard and allows users to apply DeviceNet and EtherNet/IP in real-time control applications requiring sub-microsecond synchronization between devices.Members of the press, industry analysts and other interested persons are invited to attend.
