ABB Receives $3.8 Million Automation System Retrofit Order For L.A. Water Treatment Plant

New monitoring and control system will help city of L.A. achieve operational excellenceWickliffe, Ohio – September 09, 2004 -- ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has received a $3.8 million order to provide a Symphony Enterprise Management and Control System for the City of Los Angeles Glendale Water Reclamation Plant. The turnkey project, which is to be completed in 2005, is replacing a PLC based system. The City selected ABB’s Symphony system for the Glendale project because of their successful Symphony system installation at the Tillman Water Reclamation plant. ABB’s Symphony family of control systems represents the largest installed base of any process automation system, with over 200,000 controllers sold worldwide. In addition to the new system, ABB will also provide configuration, testing, installation, and start-up services for the project.
