The Guided Pneumatic Cylinder (GPC) by Rexroth is equipped with two rigid guide rods supported by either slide bearings or ball bearings, which guarantees a high level of stability.The main benefits provided by the guided cylinder are high force, precise movement, high side load capacity and anti-rotation combined in the same product. This means easier design and building of machines by reducing the need for external guides. Other features are soft end position resulting in low noise. The magnetic piston means easy sensing of position. Moreover, the GPC has numerous mounting possibilities. A unique advantage is the possibility to directly combine two GPC cylinders to a two-axis system without any adapter plate. The next smaller size GPC mounts directly on the front plate of the larger cylinder.Typical applications are material handling systems, where high side-load capacity and precision motion are a must, and general application with side load or anti-rotation needs, such as stopping or clamping, where a standard cylinder is too weak. The GPC is also well suited as a carrier of grippers, suction cups and other fixtures and tooling.The GPC cylinder is available in eight different diameters between 12 and 63 millimeters as well as stroke lengths of up to 200 millimeters. A magnetic piston is standard for easy sensing of cylinder position. Choose from standard or top loader models, and all versions are available with slide bearings or ball bearings.
