Carlo Gavazzi Inc. Announces The Release Of Several New Families Of Safety Products
August 6th, 2004 Buffalo Grove, IL - Carlo Gavazzi Inc. is pleased to announce the release of several new families of safety products, including light curtains, safety modules, and safety mats. These products are part of our ongoing commitment to help our customers become more productive and safe. The new safety light curtains meet todays tough requirements for guarding dangerous work areas. Type 2 and type 4 curtains are available, in finger, hand, and body resolutions. The curtains feature partial or total muting, which is easily programmable via on-board dipswitches; an override function to allow user access to the protected area to clear jams; and LEDs for diagnostic display. Protected heights range from 161 to 1657mm, with operating distances of 6, 15, 25, or 50m. The safety light curtains are CE, TUV, and UL approved.New safety modules are now available for E-stop and safety gate control, 2 hand safety control, light curtain and safety mat control, standstill monitor to detect if a machine has come to rest, and elevator door control and cabin leveling. The modules meet the corresponding EN standards for their intended applications, and range from safety category 1 4. Each module has LEDs for diagnostic control and status display. All modules are CE approved, with many also having TUV and UL approvals. The new SM series safety mat provides effective protection in hazardous areas, by controlling an entire zone around the machine. The pressure sensitive mats, combined with the NT or MT safety modules, constitute a category 3 safety solution. The mats are custom built to the exact dimensions required for the installation, and feature a non-slip, heavy-duty surface. Each mat comes with aluminum trim, and can be easily secured to any floor with screws.
