Fluke Donates $175,000 in Test Equipment to ISA Training Institute

The presentation was made Oct. 6, at the ISA Expo 2004.EVERETT, WA – Fluke Corporation, the world’s leading supplier of test and measurement equipment, announced at the annual Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society (ISA) Exposition in Houston October 6, a major donation of $175,000 in test equipment to the ISA Training Institute. Based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, the ISA training organization, the leading source for training and ongoing education for instrumentation professionals, serves over 3,000 professionals annually with classroom style, hands-on training.The donation includes thirty-two Fluke-744 Documenting HART Calibrators and twelveFluke-700P05 pressure modules. This donation is intended to allow the ISA to broaden the curriculum offered to instrumentation professionals as well as increase the number of process professionals that receive training.“We are pleased to be able to make this donation to the ISA and benefit thousands of students over the next several years,” said Fluke President Jim Lico. “As a global employer ourselves, we are keenly aware of the need for a well-trained, qualified workforce, which is why we aggressively support education. ISA plays a vital role in training process professionals. Their focus on hands-on training is what we look for in our education partners.”The Fluke 744 offers a comprehensive system for instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting and can source/simulate all of the common process parameters including volts, mA, frequency, ohms, temperature, and pressure. With its HART capability it can be used to train process engineers and technicians on “smart” or digital instruments as well as traditional analog instruments. The calibrator, with its documentation features, can also be used to teach advanced process calibration maintenance techniques including preventive maintenance. “Fluke has been a generous supporter of ISA training and education programs through equipment donations to our labs for ten years,” said Rob Renner, Executive Director of ISA. “With this latest donation, Fluke has donated over seventy 700 series Fluke calibrators to ISA’s training labs.” Last year, Fluke introduced its Education Partnership Program, which combines a wealth of educational materials and application information with product discounts, all accessed through a web site available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (support.fluke.com/educators). The program is available to instructors in two- and four-year educational settings, as well as apprenticeship programs.
