ISA - The Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society has announced its 2005 exam schedule for the Certified Automation Professional (CAP) program. The CAP exam sessions are scheduled for March 19th, July 16th, October 8th, and December 10th of next year. The application deadlines for the respective exam dates are, February 4th, June 3rd, August 26th, and October 28th. ISA will also hold a special exam session at the ISA EXPO 2005, which will be held on October 27th in Chicago, Illinois.The 2005 schedule will mark the CAP program's second year. ISA began developing the automation certification as the society moved its focus from instrumentation to automation. "ISA is the society for automation professionals," says Nick Sands with DuPont and a member of the CAP Job Analysis Panel." We have defined the body of knowledge that automation professionals should know. Now, through the CAP program, we provide the professional identity and recognition for these professionals."The CAP exam fee is $250 for ISA members and $295 for nonmembers. ISA plans to administer the exam in locations through the US, and at George Brown College in Ontario, Canada.
