JAI PULNiX Announces Bayer CFA Camera With High Sensitivity and Reduced Smear

JAI’s new CV-A70CL, a Bayer CFA color camera, is based on the latest in CCD image sensor technology and features high sensitivity and reduced smear. This makes it ideal for demanding applications. The CV-A70CL uses the latest-generation Bayer CFA progressive scan 1/2” CCD sensor with 782 x 582 pixels resolution. The 1/2” format has the advantage of a large pixel size (8.3 x 8.3 µm), which results in higher sensitivity. The CV-A70CL relies on host-based color interpolation for precise and crisp color rendition. JAI’s many years’ experience with testing image sensors’ upper speed limits make possible the design of cameras with fast readout that do not sacrifice S/N ratio. In the case of the CV-A70CL, the frame rate is 60 frames/second at full resolution while maintaining a S/N ratio of >56dB. There are several binning and partial scan readout modes, allowing frame rates of up to 250 frames/second.The CV-A70CL features a Camera Link interface and is user-selectable between 10-bit or 8-bit readout. All external camera controls, such as trigger and serial interface, are routed through the Camera Link connector. This allows the user to have full control of trigger modes, readout modes, shutter speed, and gain/offset level. A rear panel LED indicates the presence of power or trigger input.
