ODVA Announces 2004 CIP Networks Conference And 10th Annual Meeting
Ann Arbor, Mich., July 15, 2004 ODVA will host its 2004 CIP Networks Conference and 10 th Annual Meeting from November 15-19 at the Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio, Texas, USA. Open to everyone interested in ODVA and its Common Industrial Protocol (CIP)-based networks and extensionscurrently, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, CIP Safety and CIP Syncthis conference will focus on applications of CIP, technology updates and how users and vendors alike can benefit from these open, standards-based networks.Throughout its 10 year history, ODVA has been committed to developing and promoting open standards, from the DeviceNet adaptation of CIP in the mid-1990s to the EtherNet/IP adaptation of CIP in 2000 and the recently announced safety and synchronization extensions to CIP, said Katherine Voss, Executive Director of ODVA. With ODVA members reporting double and triple digit growth of all CIP networks during the past year, industrial OEMs and end users have clearly recognized the benefits of implementing networking solutions built on a proven, standards-based industrial protocol and a future-proof network architecture.
