Minneapolis, MN–August 27, 2004–TURCK Inc. introduces multi-turn absolute encoders with DeviceNet technology as the latest addition to the "Kübler by TURCK" line of Fieldbus absolute encoders. The DeviceNet multi-turn encoders are available in an "industry standard" 58 mm diameter (Model 5860) for shaft style units and 90 mm diameter (Model 9080) for the hollowshaft units (bore sizes to 25 mm). Both styles achieve 25-bits of resolution through 13-bits per turn (8192) and 12-bits (4096) of turn data. To meet application specific requirements, the DeviceNet encoder has a wide range of features including the following programmable options: direction control, per turn resolution, number of turns, and a user defined offset value. On board diagnostics monitor the encoders vital internal operations including LED aging, over frequency and CPU watchdog. Standard options include eurofast quick disconnects resulting in faster, more reliable connections for increased uptime. The Kübler by TURCK line of DeviceNet encoders incorporates our patented "Intelligent Sensing Technology" (IST). This proprietary and innovative principle of operation for multi-turn encoders offers many advantages such as higher operating speeds, higher shock ratings (250 gs), longer life (no gears), and an overall lower encoder cost.
