Verano Executives to Discuss Cybersecurity Solutions for Mission-Critical ApplicationsMANSFIELD, Mass., November 16, 2004Verano security experts Al Cooley and Ron Derynck will address best practices for securing systems that control the management, transmission, distribution and generation of utilities, such as water, energy and electricity, from cyberattacks at IEE Water, PowerGen 2004 and DistribuTech. The presentation will be part of Power Industry Trends II session The Transmission Grid Risks and Opportunities, from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. in room S320B at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. PowerGen will take place from Nov. 30 until Dec. 2.· At DistribuTech on Jan. 26, 2005, Derynck will co-present Building Secure Electricity Transmission and Distribution Systems with Nick Carr, enterprise product marketing manager for Red Hat. The presentation will be part of the session entitled How to Secure Your T&D Assets from Cyber Intrusion and Future Standards, which will last from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. at the San Diego Convention Center.
