GE Fanuc Announces Automation Productivity Seminars

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – GE Fanuc Automation Americas, Inc., a unit of GE Infrastructure, has announced the “Outperform Your Competition: Increase Productivity Through Automation” seminar series for discrete manufacturers, particularly in metalworking. Held in conjunction with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), FANUC Robotics and Renishaw Inc., this educational seminar introduces participants to strategies for increasing productivity through Overall Equipment Effectiveness or OEE (Machine Availability, Performance, and Output Quality), Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. During the seminar, participants can learn about and gain experience with technologies that enable a more productive manufacturing environment – as well as take advantage of the opportunity for expert consultation. Additionally, hands-on demonstrations with attendee participation will be available. Select locations will include speakers from local SME Chapters.Agenda includes: how to remain globally competitive with OEE, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma; the power of productivity through automation technologies, including robotics, probing and real-time data collection; quality challenges; real-life applications of lean manufacturing; and solutions in action. For this series of educational seminars, attendees will also have the opportunity to register for a chance to win a trip to the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Italy, given away at the end of the seminar series.
