Purchase orders generated in Avantis are sent to a secure web page, which automatically notifies the suppliers of the new order by e-mail and prompts them to verify receipt. After reviewing the order on line, the supplier accepts, rejects, or requests a change to the order. Buyers are immediately notified of the supplier actions and the purchase order is automatically updated. Both the buyer and supplier can view the most recent version of a purchase order electronically over the Web with no conflicting information from old faxes or e-mails.
