EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – June 30, 2005 – Igus® Inc., the leading developer of Energy Chain® cable carriers and Chainflex® continuous-flex cables, also provides various types of strain relief to further ensure the security of its cable management systems. Igus tie-wrap plates and cable tie wraps work together to fix the position of cables at specific points along the carrier.Tie-wrap plates can be used as a separate component, either bolted onto a KMA bracket or fixed onto a mounting bracket with a snap-in connection. They can also be clipped on without bolts or clipped onto the opening of the crossbars. Tie wraps are then used to attach the cable to the plate. Two tie wraps provide more stability than one. With a single tie wrap, the breaking force is 350 Newtons, but with two tie wraps that breaking force more than doubles to 830 Newtons. Igus works directly with its customers to find the right solution unique to their application.About igusIgus Inc., founded in 1985 and based in East Providence, R.I., develops and manufactures industry-leading plastic cable carriers, continuous-flex cables, plastic bearings and linear guide systems.
