ISA Releases Boiler Control Systems Resource

Research Triangle Park, NC (7 June 2005) – ISA recently announced the release of Boiler Control Systems Engineering by Jerry Gilman.Written for those who work with boilers as utilities managers, power plant managers, control systems engineers, maintenance technicians or operators, this resource focuses on all elements of Boiler Control Systems. The content of Boiler Control Systems Engineering deals primarily with water tube boilers with Induced Draft (ID) and Forced Draft (FD) fan(s) or boilers with only a FD fan. However, the material can apply to any steam generator requiring the firing of fuel. The book addresses issues to be considered when defining measurement transmitters and specification for transmitters. Characteristics and sizing of final control elements are reviewed. Engineering details on control systems and the setup of the various control functions are covered with specific examples of boiler control including configuration and tuning.
