With ACOPOS, B&R offers bus-capable servo drives for machine manufacturing in the power range from 400 W to 64 kW. With the ETHERNET Powerlink network connection, it is possible to operate up to 240 axes on one line using the same network. The ETHERNET Powerlink network is the only one currently on the market that provides real-time communication. When controlling the axes using multiplex operation, 200 µs transfer speeds are achieved.Using Automation Studio, the software tool delivered by B&R, it is possible to write the software and also diagnose the servo drives with one tool. Extensive diagnostics functions are provided via the real-time bus. Motor and junction temperatures - samples of current and lag error data - these are only some examples of the support provided for commissioning. Of course all this data can also be used for machine visualization. ACOPOS servo drives support the operation of all standard motor types such as synchronous motors, asynchronous motors with or without a feedback system, linear motors or direct drives. The system has been used successfully for many years in various applications, such as packaging and material handling in the textile and plastic industries. For more information visit www.br-automation.com.
