Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH, Neckartenzlingen/ Germany, is introducing a new version of the EAGLE industrial security system at SPS/IPC/DRIVES in Nuremberg (Hall 9, Stand 221). This version (software release 2.0) offers both additional functions for integrating into existing networks and also for the redundant configuration of network connections and for network management. New features include, for example, 1 to 1 NAT (Network Address Translation), layer 3 router redundancy, MAC filter, anti virus protection and a plug in for SolSoft's policy management suite. As EAGLE can be integrated into almost any network structure, sub-networks can be securely protected as well as production cells or individual automation machines without the network configuration having to be changed. This security system that can take over the tasks of a stateful inspection firewall, a VPN concentrator and a virus scanner, meets all relevant industry standards and can be mounted on DIN rails. The units, which have both a secured and an unsecured port, are offered with various port assignments. There are 16 different combinations of twisted pair, multi mode, single mode and long haul connections available. The serial port is also subject to firewall rules and can be used as a remote access port. Complete integration into the SolSoft S.A. software suite ensures the seamless integration of the system into a company wide security policy and a corresponding workflow process. In addition all system configurations can be carried out securely via a graphic user interface or made available locally using an auto configuration adapter.
