Honeywell Reports Record Attendance at Users Group EMEA
PRAGUE, October 24, 2005 - Honeywell (NYSE:HON) today announced it is hosting its annual users group for a record number of 450 customers from Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The conference, held from October 24 -27 in Prague, Czech Republic, is one of seven user groups Honeywell holds worldwide annually and each event is a unique experience for attendees, as the conference sessions are defined by customers. Customers will be addressing topical issues such as systems migration, safety and security and simulation at the conference, in order to determine new ways to improve performance in these key areas. This year's agenda features customer presentations, Honeywell technology breakout sessions, topical panel discussions, an extensive demonstration and exhibit area, set in an informal atmosphere that encourages networking opportunities. Honeywell partners will play prominent roles at the conference, including representatives from BearingPoint, Pepperl and Fuchs and Spazio, the Milan-based architectural firm specialising in industrial architecture and control building design. Numerous Honeywell customers from a variety of industries are scheduled to attend the event, including Shell, ExxonMobil, Borealis, Repsol, Preem, Sasol, MOL, and Akzo Nobel. The event is being sponsored by MTL Instruments, Pepperl & Fuchs, Intergraph and Stratus Technologies. System Migration. As more customers move from legacy and third-party systems to Experion, Honeywell is offering sessions and live demonstrations on ABB, Siemens and Provox migration solutions.
Security Technology. Protection from physical and cyber attacks has become a fundamental business issue for Honeywell's EMEA-based customers. Both sessions and live demonstrations on open systems security and cyber security solutions will address the topic of security.
Corrosion. The global process control industry spends an average of $50 billion a year on corrosion problems - sessions on corrosion detection capabilities will explore how customers can detect corrosion and so reduce maintenance costs and increase unit productivity.
Simulation. Simulation is a highly effective and cost-efficient way for process manufacturers to increase plant profitability--Honeywell will be hosting sessions on simulation and provide a live demonstration of its UniSim(tm) simulation solution to help drive long-term operational safety and stability.
