March 2006. Tucson, Arizona. Intelligent Instrumentation, Incorporated, a global manufacturer of networked data acquisition and industrial data collection equipment headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, announced today that it has been purchased from its former parent, Texas Instruments, Incorporated, by an internal group of key managers. Intelligent Instrumentation was established in 1984 as an independent subsidiary of the former Burr-Brown Corporation in Tucson. When Texas Instruments purchased Burr-Brown in 2000, III (or I-Cubed) became a subsidiary of Texas Instruments. Rick Daniel, President and CEO of III, stated “For over 20 years, Intelligent Instrumentation has been providing innovative solutions to its customers’ data acquisition and collection problems, helping them to enhance their productivity and profitability with its products and services. Customers can expect the same high level of professionalism and commitment that we’ve always provided, and should notice no change. This move is a natural for us, as we’ve always operated as a fiercely independent entity. Our respective businesses have little in common, so it made sense for both companies to cut the ties at this point and go our separate ways.
