NEW BERLIN, Wis., July 11, 2006 - Daniel Beaudet has been named vice president, Quality Systems, for ABB Automation Products, Low Voltage Drives. Beaudet will be responsible for providing overall leadership to the continued development of world-class quality systems for the drives operation, which manufactures and ships drives to customers throughout North America. He will work closely with the ABB's global business unit, and both global and local engineering, operations & commercial functions, to integrate, effectively, quality into all aspects of the business. ABB Low Voltage Drives is headquartered in New Berlin, WI. "Quality Systems will continue its' focus on developing data-driven and customer-focused capabilities that result in measurable improvements in product, process & supplier quality, customer support & responsiveness, and reliability science & technology," said Rick Hepperla, sr. vice president and general manager of ABB Low Voltage Drives, in announcing the appointment. "This is critical to our continued growth and business success." Beaudet most recently was director of Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement at Waukesha Engine/Dresser in Waukesha, WI. In this role, he was responsible for leading the implementation of Lean manufacturing and quality systems, and had direct responsibility for manufacturing engineering, product engineering and technical support functions. Prior to that, Daniel held numerous positions of increasing responsibility at Bombardier Recreational Products, including director of Assembly & Quality, and director of Operations, at plants in Quebec, Canada, and in Sturtevant, WI. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Management and now is completing his MBA.
