FKI Logistex receives service contract for Singapore Changi Airport

Changi renews long-term relationship with FKI Logistex (Aarhus, Denmark: July 24, 2006) FKI Logistex® received a full-service contract for the baggage operations at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2. The contract covers the complete operation and maintenance of equipment from various suppliers used in baggage check-in, transportation, security control, identification and sortation. Changi Airport, a strategic international gateway to Asia, serves approximately 24 million passengers a year. FKI Logistex has managed the operation and maintenance of the baggage operations at Changi Airport Terminal 2 for the past five years. FKI Logistex technicians are responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of Terminal 2's baggage handling equipment, which includes manning the airport's baggage control room on a 24/7 schedule to ensure the system is running smoothly and continuously. Forty-five staff members carry out the work in three shifts, seven days per week. The FKI Logistex support team ensures optimum system availability and will oversee the system's long-term functioning. The Terminal 2 contract has been renewed for another five years, starting July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2011.
