Intergraph To Proffer More Than $1.8 Million in Grants to Universities WorldwideIntergraph Education Grant Program to Provide Plant Design and Engineering Software Licenses, Support and Instructor Training HUNTSVILLE, Ala., June 7, 2006 Intergraph Corporation today announced that it has awarded grants for its SmartPlant suite of plant and industrial design software with an estimated commercial lease value of $1,808,350 to five international education institutions in Argentina, Finland, Haiti and Norway. The recipients include Bergeland Videregående Skole, Laboratory of CAD Stavanger, Norway, (US$76,400); Rogaland Vidergående Sjoaspirantskole of Hundvag, Norway (US$47,600); Escuela de Educacion Technica No. 1, Buenos Aires, Argentina (US$220,100); Kymenlaakso Polytechnic, Finland (US$1,426,750) and Université Quisqueya, Haiti (US$37,500). Engineering software provided under the grant program includes SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Electrical, SmartPlant Review, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartSketch® and SmartPlant 3D®. The Educational Grant Program (ppm.intergraph.com/education) awards software to institutions of higher learning and technology worldwide. The Intergraph Process, Power & Marine Educational Grant Program helps build student proficiency and experience in using engineering software. For educational institutions, the program brings advanced technology software to the classroom, expands course offerings at minimal cost and enables instructors to upgrade skills through commercial training. The program also provides industry with qualified job candidates trained to use the popular Intergraph engineering software. Educational institutions worldwide with engineering and technical curricula associated with the process manufacturing, power generation and offshore petroleum industries are eligible to apply for grants, which have a one-year, renewable term. Grant recipients under the standard program are eligible to receive SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Electrical and SmartSketch software and maintenance; instructor training; and technical installation assistance. A program option includes PDS, SmartPlant 3D and SmartPlant Review, depending on institution curriculum and expertise. Intergraph awards educational grants non-exclusively to help widen student educational horizons and broaden school curricula. The Intergraph software is widely used in design, construction, operations and maintenance in a variety of industries including onshore and offshore oil and gas, shipbuilding, petrochemicals, power generation, chemicals, metals and mining, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage and others. The most advanced plant design environment available, SmartPlant 3D offers concurrent engineering, real-time clash detection and integration with SmartPlant as well as other software and systems. SmartPlant Instrumentation supports controls system engineering, while SmartPlant P&ID and SmartPlant Electrical support piping and instrumentation and electrical engineering, respectively. PDS is for integrated 3D and 2D plant design and SmartPlant Review is for 3D visualization. SmartSketch provides multi-discipline, precision drafting, drawing and diagramming.
