MGE sees growth from globalization strategies

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- August 14, 2006 -- MGE UPS SYSTEMS has launched initiatives designed to assist resellers and OEM partners in supporting customers worldwide. The company's enhanced manufacturing and sales presence on five continents allows fast response to the increasing demand for global power solutions, while increased engineering focus assures that a wide selection of new products will assure smooth operation no matter where they are deployed. "It's no longer enough to develop power protection solutions optimized for a single geographical market," observed MGE's Vice President of Marketing, Hervé Tardy. "For example, many of our on-line double-conversion UPS technology delivers pure power combined with complete network integration software and communication connectivity, providing a complete, easy-to-integrate solution for protecting customers' IT systems no matter where they are deployed. In addition, users can be assured of comprehensive support from our network of 900 service specialists in 170 centers worldwide, including our recently opened multi-branch Indian facility, MGE UPS Systems India PVT. Ltd." "Most of these regions suffer from especially poor power conditions, but at the same time are experiencing tremendous growth in demand for sensitive electronics that require high quality power protection," continued Tardy. "This can pose problems for VARs selling to customers with global requirements. For example, various regions require multiple receptacle types so MGE offers a large variety of PDUs to facilitate power distribution. Being able to replace a UPS without turning off protected equipment is another important capability that we address with extensive Hot Swap functionality in our products. For resellers integrating turnkey global solutions, our upcoming systems can operate as a frequency converter -- changing 60 hertz output to 50 hertz or 50 hertz to 60 hertz. Due to the regenerative on-line design, the units create clean pure sinewave computer-grade power with voltage tightly regulated to plus or minus 5 percent." MGE will be introducing new products with global markets in mind, such as the new Pulsar and Pulsar M series for the sub-3 kVA segment. These state-of-the-art on-line double conversion UPSs have been specially designed to meet the multiple challenges faced in overseas markets. They will be available from our North American distributors this fall.
