Wavetrend has supplied active RFID tags and readers for the UK Channel 4 series "Honey I ruined the house." This is a natural successor to last year's ground-breaking Project:Life experiment, an innovative example of how active RFID can be used to improve lifestyle. In the Project:Life study, conducted by David Wilson Homes and Nottingham University, a family of four were provided with Wavetrend wrist tags to wear continuously over a two month period in a specially designed home. The information gathered from readers enabled researchers to monitor their movements and use of electrical equipment around the house and determine how to optimize home design in the 21st century. Channel 4 has adapted this concept in an eight-part series titled “Honey I ruined the house” where celebrity designer Naomi Cleaver advises home-owners on how to re-shape their living quarters to best suit their needs. Participants are tagged to see how their time is spent in their own home, allowing Naomi to suggest the design changes required to improve their use of space. Not only is she able to radically improve the design of the property, but she also has sufficient accurate information to put a value on the space that is not being used.
