Customers to Benefit from Combined Companies; Provides Ellison with a Toehold in Major US Industrial Centers Cleveland, Ohio, January 4, 2007 - Ellison Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of engineered systems and industrial equipment to American metal-working and metal-cutting manufacturers, has acquired Jackson Machinery Company, a privately held distributor based outside of Cleveland, Ohio. The prior Jackson Machinery merged its operations with the existing Ellison Technologies - Cleveland office. The acquisition was effective November 3, 2006. "Jackson Machinery has been a very successful dealer, representing a number of leading companies," stated Art Seyler, president of Ellison Technologies - Ohio. "They have earned a solid reputation for providing excellent service. Its applications personnel are a creative group with a can-do attitude and are experienced in doing turn-keys projects. Its acquisition gives Ellison a prominent position in a key American industrial area. We are excited to have them as part of our family." The acquisition allows Ellison to better serve one of the country's premier manufacturing regions, the northern half of Ohio. The area includes major industrial markets such as Cleveland, Akron-Canton, Mansfield, Youngstown, and Toledo. It is heavily populated with manufacturing concerns. Among the many industries represented are aerospace, automotive, agricultural, medical, and energy. Processes used include high-speed and multi-axis machining, robotic automation, continuous flow, and setup reduction. Until being acquired, Jackson Machinery was an exclusive dealer of Mori Seiki products and sub-dealer to Mori Mid-America Sales, distributing Mori Hi-Tech machines. Along with that product line, it also represented United Grinding, SNK, and Hanwha (Swiss turning lathes). All of which are expected to become part of the new Ellison Technologies - Cleveland product mix. Seyler said the acquisition would build on the momentum generated when Mori Seiki named Ellison Technologies their sole distributor in the Mid West earlier this year. "We will continue to develop a wider range of services for our customers, including pre-engineering capabilities, robotic automation services and financing, allowing us to provide solutions beyond those offered by our competitors." He added that Jackson Machinery has excellent territory history and knowledge. He said it also enjoys excellent customer relationships, many with key players in the territory including Wonder Machine, Timken, Curtis Wright and Lord Corp. to name a few. Along with Seyler, the new Ellison Technologies - Ohio management team is made up of director of corporate accounts Bob Jackson, former owner of Jackson Machinery, and two other former Jackson executives, Matt Bujoll and Kurt Schaldach, who are, respectively, sales manager and applications/ service manager. They are joined by all eight Jackson employees as well as the six Ellison associates from the initial Cleveland office. Additional sales positions are planned.
