ST‘s R17 robot arm goes to the movies

TRENTON, New Jersey - May 3, 2007 - ST Robotics’ R17 anthromorphic robot arm was featured in “The Last Mimzy,” a science fiction film about the future. The robot was chosen for its exceptional ease of use, low cost, rugged industrial construction, and for its overall design.“The Last Mimzy” is based on the acclaimed 1943 short story 'Mimsy Were the Borogoves' by Lewis Padgett. The film, released on March 23, is produced by Michael Phillips and directed by Robert Shaye, founder, Co-Chairman, and Co-CEO of New Line Cinema.
