Robesonia, PA, July 15, 2003 ¾ CIMNET, a developer of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software, announced that a leading food manufacturer has integrated their SAP implementation and CIMNET’s Factelligence™ MES using a configurable XML based interface. The SAP interface, using the Factelligence™ Supply Chain Connector module, is user configurable and exchanges vital production information between factory personnel and the ERP. At a user-configured frequency, the interface downloads work orders, materials, bill of material definitions and user information from SAP into Factelligence. Similarly, the interface manages the uploading of material consumption, product movements and labor usage from the MES database into SAP.“Accurate and timely factory information is vital for a successful ERP installation,” says Jason Dietrich from CIMNET. “More effective supply chain management will occur with real-time integration of factory operations into enterprise systems using MES. With an integrated solution between the plant and business level systems, improving product time to market, manufacturing performance and business growth is an achievable goal for manufacturers,” says Dietrich. The Supply Chain Connector module integrates all Factelligence™ configuration and production history with SAP and other common ERP, Document Management, Maintenance and Supply Chain Management systems. User configurable data formats including XML, file or direct connections from database to database can be exchanged based upon predefined schedules or triggers.
