August 12, 2010 - PLCopen had its Annual General Meeting on June 24 in Frankfurt, Germany. At this occasion Eelco van der Wal, the Managing Director of PLCopen (left), thanked the outgoing Chairman of the PLCopen PC1 Committee Ralf Wohlschläger (right) for his long time commitment to the PC1.Ralf Wohlschläger from Panasonic Electric Works Europe joined the PLCopen PC1 Promotional Committee in 1994. This committee is responsible for the promotional activities of the organization world wide. As of 1996 Ralf Wohlschläger was the Chairman of the PC1 committee. During these 17 years the job reaches of Mr. Wohlschläger with Panasonic Electric Works Europe were considerably extended, resulting in less and less time available for the PLCopen tasks. For this reason Ralf Wohlschläger decided to step down as chairman of the PC1.Wohlschläger: "In the past 17 years PLCopen has been very successful. The IEC 61131-3 standard for Programming Languages and the PLCopen certifications are now widely accepted and implemented within the industry. The work for PLCopen and the interaction with other manufacturers in industrial automation has been very challenging. The PLCopen membership has also been very important for Panasonic. Already in 1995 we were one of the first companies using IEC 61131-3 programming systems in our control software. The cooperation with PLCopen helped us to further develop our systems up till today”.About PLCopenPLCopen was founded in 1992 as an independent worldwide association for industrial suppliers and users.
