April 21, 2011 - Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has established its first U.S.-based Complete Piping Solutions (CPS) center in Houston, Texas, to support the North American customer base with engineered non-welded piping solutions. Utilizing Parker's innovative Parflange F37 non-welded technology, the center houses consultation, design, prefabricated pipe assemblies and installation services under one roof to minimize the total installed cost of piping projects.   The new facility is owned and operated by Parker's Tube Fittings Division and is one of five Parker piping solution centers located worldwide. Customers choose the breadth of service required - everything from jobsite delivery of prefabricated assemblies to the complete redesign of a welded piping system including installation. This flexible approach creates efficiencies throughout each stage of the project...

  • During consultation, CPS engineers review the project to determine a tailored proposal matching the customer's technical and commercial requirements. This joint planning establishes a foundation for subsequent piping design, fabrication and installation.
  •  In the piping system design stage, engineer-to-engineer collaboration ensures that technical requirements, specifications and applicable standards/codes are met. Parker's designers are experts in on-site surveying and measurement as well as development or modification of detailed pipe drawings. Designs can be completed at the customer's jobsite or at the CPS center in Houston.
  • With the latest CNC cold bending technology and other complementary/finishing equipment, upfront engineering is migrated to factory prefabricated pipe assemblies that arrive clean and protected, labeled, and ready to be installed. When projects do not allow for prefabrication, the CPS center is able to dispatch these capabilities to the customer's jobsite. If required, mobile or CPS center flushing and proof pressure testing can be performed.
  • Parker is also fully engaged in the installation of pipe assemblies. A CPS project manager leads a team of trained installers to maximize throughput and ensure work quality. This on-site service also allows for faster response to unanticipated problems or customer design changes, thereby minimizing costly delays.

Parflange F37 - the proven, leak-free alternative to labor-intensive pipe welding - is the foundation of Parker's Complete Piping Solutions. Two connection technologies, F37 Flare and F37 Retaining Ring, can reduce dependency on welded piping systems up to 273 mm with wall thicknesses to 25 mm (10" x 1"). Including a full range of seamless tube, flanges, clamps, adapters and other accessories for constructing complete systems, Parflange F37 reduces total cost by reducing welding and fabrication time.   Parker's CPS center in Houston also operates North America's most modern and large-capacity CNC bending capabilities for hydraulic piping systems. Thus, cold bent pipe assemblies with fewer connection flanges can be prefabricated and installed at the jobsite in a fraction of the time compared to field fabricated/welded assemblies.   Another innovation, the Parker Tracking System (PTS) - a worldwide asset tagging and identification database - provides traceability of all CPS center-produced assemblies throughout their life cycle. This makes Parker more than a component and service provider, but a truly global system partner for non-welded piping solutions. About Parker Hannifin's Tube Fittings Division The Tube Fittings Division is a unit of Parker Hannifin Corporation's Fluid Connectors Group.
