July 5, 2011 - Universal Flow Monitors announces literature on its lubrication flowmeter line, which now has the option of transmitters instead of the usual alarm switches. The new literature features a simplified ordering chart to guide users along a clear path to creating a model code number for ordering. The transmitter offered in these variable area meters is compact and noncontact magnetically coupled. The LL, SN and MN series meters monitor rate of oil flow to keep gears, bearings, drills and mills functional in the processing industries for flows ranging from 5 GPH (gallons per hour) to 70 GPM (gallons per minute). The lube oil flowmeters protect machinery and minimize downtime in event of flow failure. They provide local flow indication to assist in problem diagnosis and rapid response if flow goes too low. The new literature shows standard features such as the dimensions of the small control box, the normal PSI of the specific meter, and the material of the housing, internal moving parts and seal. Choices of maximum flow rate, threaded attachment, fluid characteristics, flow direction and other options are clearly laid out for making choices. These flowmeters are easy to install, operate and maintain. Mounting for the entire line is in-line and in any position. Straight pipe runs before or after these meters are not required. Mechanical flow switches can be wired to trigger equipment shutdown for protection against machinery damage or use the transmitter as input to the control system. The SN vane-style meters are designed for flows from 0.5 gallons per minute (GPM) to 20 GPM (2 LPM to 75 LPM). The full-scale readout accuracy is +/-5%. The MN vane-style meters are designed for flows from 10-70 GPM (40-250 LPM). The full-scale accuracy readout is +/-2%. The LL piston-style meters are designed for flows from 0.25 GPM to 20 GPM (1 LPM to 75 LPM). The full-scale readout accuracy is +/-5%.
