December 10, 2013 - The Global Business & Markets platform in Hall 13 at next year’s Hannover Messe to host Investment Lounge is all about helping SMEs develop international markets. With its Hannover Messe to host Investment Lounge and its lineup of high-caliber conferences and follow-up workshops, Global Business & Markets will again serve as HANNOVER MESSE’s central information hub for global enterprise. The patrons and partners of next year’s Global Business & Markets showcase recognize the event’s enormous value as a wellspring of knowledge, contacts and ideas that help companies to grow their business internationally. “HANNOVER MESSE comprehensively maps out the capability and potential of Europe’s industrial sector. Its Global Business & Markets showcase is where SMEs can find the information and partners they need to develop new markets worldwide. As a patron of Global Business & Markets 2014, we look forward to many stimulating new ideas and initiatives that will help drive growth throughout Europe,” said Antonio Tajani, the Vice President of the European Commission and EU Commissioner for Industry and Business. The focus of next year’s Global Business & Markets event will be on the world’s major growth markets. At this stage, the organizers are planning conferences on the US, China, Japan, Latin America, Africa, Saudi Arabia, Russia and the UAE. Europe will also feature strongly in the event lineup, which will include special coverage of the Netherlands (next year’s official Partner Country), Poland, the competitiveness of Europe’s industrial sector and the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. “As the official Partner Country for HANNOVER MESSE 2014, the Netherlands will have a key role to play as a force for business internationalization and the integration of Europe’s supply chains – both of which are also at the heart of the Global Business & Markets platform,” said Marc Siemering, Deutsche Messe’s Senior Vice-President responsible for HANNOVER MESSE. Global Business & Markets is a joint initiative by Deutsche Messe and the Federation of German Industries (BDI). The official patrons of next year’s event are the European Commission, the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and the Premier of Lower Saxony, Stephan Weil. Also contributing will be a number of German and international business organizations, who will be staging their own conferences under the Global Business & Markets umbrella. HANNOVER MESSE’s foreign trade hub is also a key venue for events centered around the fair’s Partner Country, which is why, in 2014, the Netherlands will feature strongly in the Global Business & Markets event lineup. Germany Trade & Invest, the Federal Republic’s economic development agency, will be back next year as a partner of the Global Business & Markets INVESTMENT LOUNGE – the first port of call for many of the international business delegations who visit HANNOVER MESSE each year. Germany Trade & Invest experts will be available at the INVESTMENT LOUNGE throughout the fair to assist companies who are considering setting up operations in Germany. Global Business & Markets is also an exhibition venue and features stands operated by business development agencies, consulting firms and service providers specializing in sales, financing, marketing, logistics and commercial law. In 2013, the event’s conferences and forums alone attracted some 5,000 registered attendees. HANNOVER MESSE – Get new technology first!
