March 3, 2014 - Falcon Electric announces that its SSG Series Industrial UPS and SSG-RP Series High Temperature UPS product families have achieved UL 508 listing – assuring safety, code compliance and power protection inside industrial control panels.   Achieving UL 508 listing assures electrical consultants, electrical panel board manufacturers and end-users that Falcon’s UPSs comply with the NFPA 70 National Electrical code and the new UL requirements including compliance to UL 508.   “We are very pleased that our SSG and SSG-RP product families have achieved the important UL 508 listing,” said Michael A. Stout, vice president of engineering for Falcon Electric. “Our work with the International Society of Automation (ISA) and close collaboration with our customers exemplifies the need for reliable protection of industrial control panels. Having the UL 508 Listing reassures our customers and government inspectors that our UPS products meet this standard.”   Falcon’s SSG Industrial and SSG-RP High Temperature UPSs bring unprecedented power protection to demanding applications – especially those in rugged, harsh environmental locations. The SSG units are UL and cUL listed as well as CE certified to operate from -20°C to 55°C (SSG UPS) and -30°C to 65°C (SSG-RP UPS). These models have been specifically constructed with high-grade components, plastics and batteries to provide superior protection in stressful environments. These double-conversion on-line UPSs deliver continuous, clean power required by sensitive microprocessor-based equipment, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs) and computer networks.   For increased system uptime, the UPS’ internal hot-swappable batteries feature an operational temperature range of -40°C to 80°C, far in excess of the maximum 65°C UPS specification. The batteries have a 10-year service life rating when operated in a normal ambient temperature environment of 25°C. This is double the average UPS battery life – significantly reducing battery maintenance and replacement costs.     About Falcon Electric Headquartered in Irwindale, Calif., Falcon Electric, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of award-winning power protection and conversion solutions.
