July 21, 2014 - Au2maton installed RTUs in Panama City’s Metro System (Metro de Panama). The MMIM RTU, together with the STRATON IEC61131-3 programming language, has been deployed on Line 1 of the metro system which currently links Los Andes County to the city centre. More lines are planned over coming years Each station contains a MMIM to interface the SCADA system to lighting control panels. The STRATON IEC61131-3 programming language was used to implement the lighting actions required in all the areas of the stations. In addition an MMIM is deployed at each water pumping station and interfaces the SCADA to an ITT Flygt pump controller that controls between 2-4 pumps, depending on the station. These are used to pump out water from the train lines due to extreme rainfall and flooding. Au2mation worked on the project with Digital Lifestyle Panama, a specialist building automation and electrical system company contracted to undertake the project.
