September 12, 2014 - PTC ASIA, Asia’s biggest trade fair for power transmission and fluid power and the second-largest worldwide, will reflect China’s embrace of Industry 4.0 when it opens its doors from 27 to 30 October 2014 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. Focusing on such topics as smart manufacturing, energy efficiency and environmental protection, the sold-out event is expected to attract more than 70,000 visitors. China is transitioning from a low-tech to a high-tech nation. A recent summary from Germany Trade & Invest reports that China’s consumer base is expanding; urbanization is generating additional demand for infrastructure and consumer goods; and improving sustainability is a priority. Furthermore, China’s recent natural gas agreement with Russia will significantly increase China’s need for gas pipelines, rail transportation and other infrastructure. “China’s engineering sector is projected to grow between 9 and 12 percent in 2014. To sustain this growth the country needs modern engineering solutions and automation technologies as well as research, development and innovation,” said Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president at Deutsche Messe AG. “With 1,350 exhibitors on a display area the size of 12 football pitches, PTC is Asia’s foremost power transmission and fluid power showcase. We expect many exhibitors will demonstrate their vision of Industry 4.0 as well as how using eco-friendly materials can maximize production efficiency and conserve energy.” PTC ASIA’s exhibit program features a complete range of products and services for power transmission, motion control and fluid power. For example, ContiTech AG’s product display will include bushings and mounts that feature integrated fluid systems for optimized vibration damping; versatile air actuators and air springs that master difficult pneumatic tasks in machine and plant engineering; and heavy-duty polyurethane timing belts with carbon tension members that are highly wear-resistant and transmit power reliably. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will present drive solutions for a wide range of industrial sectors, including a working manipulator model that achieves maximum dynamics due to decentralized drive units that combine energy-saving motors, high-efficiency gearboxes, and intelligent motor-mounted frequency inverters. Other participating companies include such industry leaders as ABB, Bonfiglioli, Kastas, Lenze, NOK Freudenberg, Siemens, SKF, and Tsubaki. Germany, Italy, Korea and Taiwan will contribute country pavilions. In addition to Turkish companies exhibiting at PTC ASIA, AKDER (Turkish Association for Fluid Power Engineering) is sponsoring an official visitor delegation. PTC ASIA is organized by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., Deutsche Messe’s subsidiary in China, and runs parallel to ComVac ASIA, CeMAT ASIA, Industrial Supply ASIA, Cold Chain ASIA, and Heavy Machinery ASIA. In addition to MDA in Hannover, Germany, and PTC ASIA, Deutsche Messe organizes MDA events in Brazil, India, Italy, Turkey and the U.S. About Deutsche Messe AG With revenue of 312 million Euros in 2013, Deutsche Messe AG is one of the world's ten largest trade fair companies and operates the world’s largest exhibition center.
