Network monitoring feature monitors availability of integrated IP devices, web servers, and VPN tunnels.
March 10, 2015 - INSYS icom expanded their VPN service INSYS Connectivity Service with a free-for-all-users network monitoring feature. This monitoring feature allows customers to monitor the availability of all routers, IP-capable devices and controls in their network. Any secured or unsecured web servers, running on these devices can be monitored as well.
In addition the feature can be used to check if any router's VPN tunnel within the network is active. Monitoring intervals and other configurations can be specified for each device individually. INSYS Connectivity Service sends an e-mail with all necessary details to one or more definable e-mail addresses, if any device malfunctions are discovered by the monitoring.
“With the new monitoring feature we offer our customers a tool, that can easily and efficiently monitor the availability of devices, web servers, and VPN tunnels in their network,“ says Dr Werner Eberle, Senior Technical Consultant at INSYS icom. “Operators are automatically notified in case a VPN connection or a device in the machine network fails – and also when connection is re-established.“
The INSYS Connectivity Service is a highly available, scalable VPN online service for M2M applications, ensuring the easy and secure network integration and management of routers, PCs, local network devices, controls, measuring devices and web cams. The service allows the establishment of device groups and the assignment of incoming and outgoing connection rights for these groups. The system also creates OpenVPN certificates and periodically renews them if necessary. Safe configuration of INSYS industrial routers is started fully automatically after registration by quick start.Learn More
