Doxel AI construction systems take a holistic view of every project, tying together existing tools in AI, robotics and LIDAR imaging.
March 12, 2018 - As a business that has worked on some high profile civil engineering and infrastructure projects, Lagan Construction knows about innovation in the industry across both the private and public sector. Yet they feel that if the past 40 years have seemed innovative, the next 40 could see the industry could change in ways we can barely imagine.
Doxel is a tech startup that is at the forefront of automating construction, yet what makes them so different is that their approach is from the software side. The technology is about more than just automating the tasks of laying bricks or pouring concrete. Their AI construction systems take a holistic view of every project, tying together existing tools in AI, robotics and LIDAR imaging.
The company uses automated bots that can go literally anywhere on a construction site – no DALEK-like problems with staircases here. By constantly roaming and scanning, they provide up to the minute progress updates that have millimetre accuracy. Data is fed back to the AI, which compares each day’s scans with those from the preceding day, draws up conclusions and recommendations, and feeds this information out to the construction teams.
According to Doxel, they have already saved clients more than 10 percent in costs and increased productivity by an incredible 38 percent. And this is only the beginning – the technology is in its infancy.Learn More
