SEMI and Arizona State University Partner to Deliver Cutting-Edge Semiconductor Engineering and AI Education

MILPITAS, Calif. - July 23, 2025 - SEMI, the industry association serving the global semiconductor and electronics design and manufacturing supply chain, announced it has partnered with Arizona State University (ASU) to expand access to high-impact, on-demand training for the global semiconductor workforce. The newly launched courses, available through the SEMI University (SEMI U) learning platform, span emerging and foundational topics critical to today’s semiconductor professionals, including AI, packaging, process characterization and operational excellence. The courses offer a certificate from ASU upon successful completion of each module.

“Our partnership with ASU marks a significant step forward in delivering world-class semiconductor and AI education at scale,” said Shari Liss, vice president of Global Workforce Development and Initiatives at SEMI. “Together, we’re equipping current and future professionals with the critical, in-demand skills needed to accelerate innovation and ensure the continued growth of our industry. These flexible, high-quality learning experiences reflect our shared commitment to workforce excellence and global access.”
SEMI U featured courses with ASU include:

The courses are now available through SEMI U’s online learning platform, offering 24/7 access to self-paced content taught by subject-matter experts. The programs are ideal for students, early-career professionals and experienced engineers seeking to upskill in key areas of semiconductor technology and AI.

About SEMI University and the SEMI Workforce Development Program

The SEMI University learning platform offers more than 800 online courses specifically created for the semiconductor industry, providing an easy-to-use online training program in multiple languages for employees ranging from recently hired facility operators to experienced technicians, engineers and non-technical staff.
