Phoenix Contact introduces six MACX MCR universal temperature transducers

April 2, 2020 Phoenix Contact introduces six universal temperature transducers. These additions to the MACX MCR family are loop-powered and have two channels.

The modules include two non-Ex and two Ex I versions in two different mounting formats: head-mount and DIN rail-mount. The temperature transmitters support more than 28 different temperature sensors. The modules will also accept -20 mV to 100 mV and linear resistance ranges from 10 ohms to 2 kohms.

On the output side is a dedicated 4-20 mA signal with HART communication. At 12.5 mm wide, the DIN rail-mountable modules work to save space in the cabinet. Both Ex and non-Ex DIN rail-mount versions can be ordered preconfigured by the factory, along with certificates of calibration. A head-mount, hockey puck format is also available.

Additionally, the transmitters offer accuracy when transmitting measured values and control signals that are electrically isolated. The modules are rated up to SIL 2 according to IEC/EN 61508, so they can be designed into safety-related industrial automation applications. Approvals include ATEX, CSA, FM, EAC, and UL Class I, Division 2, making them suitable for worldwide use.
