Aug. 22, 2023 - OnBoard, the leading provider of secure, cloud-based board portals that simplify board governance operations, announced the launch of OnBoard Intelligent Assistant: a new set of artificial intelligence (AI) governance capabilities that will help boards and organizations everywhere to identify hidden opportunities, mitigate risks and facilitate better decision-making by delivering valuable insights and automations in real-time.
Now in a limited beta, OnBoard Intelligent Assistant is already available to customers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia from a diverse range of industries and institutions, including banking, tech, higher education, health care, nonprofit organizations and public companies. The beta is now open to prospective customers on an application basis. Visit the website to learn more or apply to join the limited beta.
Intelligent Assistant is encoded within OnBoard’s existing gold-standard Microsoft Azure foundation and utilizes the Microsoft-OpenAI partnership to provide a chat-like experience for boards and their organizations. Uniquely, Intelligent Assistant is available within OnBoard’s existing compliance-focused framework, which includes continual certifications for SOC II Type 2, ISO-27001 and 27701, GDPR and HIPAA.
By utilizing OnBoard Intelligent Assistant, any organization can have fully secure, seamless access to the powerful benefits of artificial intelligence that completely reimagines board collaboration software. OnBoard Intelligent Assistant provides security, confidentiality and compliance that is fully standalone, ring-fenced and disconnected from larger publicly available AI models.
OnBoard Intelligent Assistant capabilities offer contextually aware AI insights and board information based on each organization’s unique regulatory profile, enabling better-informed analysis and decision-making. For example, a director serving a public company board with articles of incorporation in Delaware can query the tool and receive responses that consider the unique profile of that regulatory environment, including director duties and obligations, risk analysis, compliance requirements and more.
Intelligent Assistant’s context-aware modeling and generative responses can also be used for accurate summarization of each board’s unique materials, presentations, policies, minutes, agendas and much more–all within a private, fully secure and confidential environment. Administrators can also use granular controls to restrict access and compartmentalize information on a user-by-user or group-by-group basis, ensuring confidentiality for sensitive board materials such as executive compensation committee reports.
“OnBoard Intelligent Assistant reinforces OnBoard’s commitment to the use of responsible AI while providing boards and their directors and staff with access to cutting-edge technology to increase effective board governance within a secure and confidential environment,” said OnBoard Chief Product Officer Martyn Chapman. “Organizations and their boards now have a secure environment in which they can leverage the power of AI. We’re thrilled to be able to provide all OnBoard customers with the ability to explore the wide range of benefits AI can provide while maintaining the highest standards for board cybersecurity, safety, privacy and confidentiality.”
“Few technology innovations change the way we fundamentally live and work. Artificial Intelligence has already taken its rightful place next to similar groundbreaking productivity achievements such as personal computers, the globally connected internet and the smartphone,” said OnBoard Co-Founder and CEO Paroon Chadha. “And while much is still to be developed and learned, AI offers compelling opportunities today, including for board management technology. Since 2010, we’ve been committed to delivering simple, easy-to-use, powerful governance tools to boards globally. Naturally, we’ve embraced AI and done so in a responsible, secure way for our customers and prospects and their boards.”
