Phoenix Contact introduces TTC-6P-4 pluggable four-wire surge protective devices

June 8, 2020 Phoenix Contact has added four-wire surge protective devices (SPDs) to the TERMITRAB Complete family. The TTC-6P-4 pluggable SPDs protect against overvoltages on four conductors in a width of only 6 mm. That is only 1.5 mm per conductor.

The additions are designed for measurement and control applications, such as temperature and weight measurements, that are sensitive to impedance.

TTC-6P-4 has been successfully tested to UL 497B, including the Class I, Division 2 approval for hazardous locations. This means that the device is suitable for worldwide use.

Like other protective devices in the TERMITRAB Complete family, the new additions provide mechanical signaling that displays the overload status of the protective devices without the need for additional auxiliary power. The device’s status indicator shows the state of on-site surge protection equipment. Optional remote signaling modules monitor up to 40 protective devices, reporting the state to the control room. The optical monitoring feature makes it possible to easily integrate or retrofit the SPDs into the remote signaling system.

With the plug-in latching mechanism, the surge protective module can be inserted and removed during operation. The measuring signal is not affected during replacement.
