Ainstein announces WAYV family of radar-based sensors

January 6, 2020 – Ainstein,a designer and builder of intelligent radar systems, announced a line of radar modules specifically designed for use in static, fixed mounted applications like traffic management, surveillance and security, space utilization, and building automation.

The first WAYV family release includes three sensors:

WAYV Air is based on 60GHz radar sensing technology. It’s a sensor for detecting and tracking people in both indoor and outdoor environments. This sensor will help to enable smart building related applications such as building automation, space utilization, and safety and security.

WAYV and WAYV Pro are mid- and long-range radar sensors with built-in radar processors and radar processing algorithms that can detect and track vehicles and pedestrians in challenging light and weather conditions. WAYV and WAYV Pro are perfect candidates for surveillance, intelligent traffic management, and other smart city related applications.

Ainstein’s WAYV IoT family features short-, mid-, and long-range sensors. These sensors enable users to track and analyze the flow of pedestrians and vehicles in a variety of situations.

In a retail environment, WAYV sensors track the flow of customers through a store. This data enables managers to optimize store layouts. In hotel/motel, industrial or office environments, WAYV sensors provide insights around space utilization and can enable emergency personnel to know exactly where people are located, facilitating rescue.

WAYV sensors address privacy concerns with tracking sensors since they don’t identify specific individuals or use facial recognition software. Installers may deploy WAYV sensors behind the ceiling.
