November 8, 2019 - Lanner will deliver NCA-6210, a network appliance verified by Intel Select Solution for NFVI Forwarding Platform (NFVI FP) with optimized hardware and software configuration

Intel Select Solutions for NFVI FP is a workload-optimized network architecture for NFVI as it works with the process of selecting and deploying the hardware and software needed for today’s data-intensive workloads and applications. Driven by Intel Network Builders partners optimized with Intel Xeon Scalable processors, Intel Select Solutions for NFVI FP represent the technology that will enable the transformation of end-to-end network management to meet the future 5G-driven applications.

The NCA-6210 will be Lanner’s first NFVI-ready network appliance verified as an Intel Select Solution for NFVI FP (expected in Q4’19). Optimized as a NFVI platform for virtualized network function (NFV) software, Lanner NCA-6210 is a 2U x86 rackmount network appliance powered by dual 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors that each supports 28 cores and 320GB DDR4 memory capacity for powerful network virtualization applications, as well as fully featured accelerators to offload packet encryption, computing and processing, including Intel QuickAssist Technology (Intel  QAT), Intel Advanced Vector Extensions 512 (Intel® AVX-512) instructions, Hyperscan and Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK).

Designed with flexibility for NFVI service deployment, NCA-6210 features up to 8 NIC modules slots and takes advantage of Lanner’s F.A.S.T. purpose-built modular kits developed to work with Lanner’s network computing appliances to offer flexibility, adaptability, scalability and transformability by enabling connectivity and functionality, spanning from 1/10/25/40/100G copper/fiber interface, PoE/TAP/WiFi/LTE connectivity, NVMe/SSD storage, 4K video transcoding and PCI-E expansion capabilities.
