July 28, 2017 - AAEON launched the AAEON FWS-2271, a Network Appliance designed to address the needs of home offices, small and medium businesses, and branch offices. The AAEON FWS-2271 comes with a steel casing that is ideal for wiring closets, conference rooms, retail branches, or small offices requiring reliable performance and quiet operation.
The Intel Apollo Lake powers the 6 Port Gigabit Ethernet Network Appliance and provides a solution for SOHO and SMB to optimize network applications including Firewall, VPN, Load Balancing, Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN), Software Defined Network (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFW), Unified Threat Management (UTM), Wireless Network Access Controller (NAC) and Virtual Customer Premise Equipment (vCPE), without complicated configuration required.
Designed around the 6W TDP Intel Atom N3350 Processor SoC, the FWS-2271 is a network appliance that is built to consistently perform at peak efficiency. Expansion slots include 2 Mini-card slots that facilitate Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE for greater connectivity, in addition to an internal SATA III connector for a 2.5" HDD. The security and management features are accessible via a dedicated console port and an integrated HDMI port as well as TPM support, enabling both local and remote administration.
