September 1, 2017 --- Detector Electronics Corp. (Det-Tronics) announced the availability of fast-response options for the PointWatch Eclipse PIRECL infrared gas detector, a SIL 2-Capable infrared point gas detector that detects methane, propane, ethylene, butane and other combustible hydrocarbon gases. The fast-response detector has been certified by the approval agencies FM, CSA and UL for its detection of methane and butane in as little as 1.5 seconds. Det-Tronics, the global leader in fire- and gas-safety systems, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.
The Eclipse, which has signal outputs that include isolated 4-20 mA output, HART communication, RS-485 Modbus RTU communication, and the Det-Tronics Eagle Quantum Premier (EQP) Safety System local operation network (LON) communication, requires infrequent calibration.
