April 28, 2016 - Axiomtek, a designer and manufacturer of PC-based industrial computer products, introduced the PICO500, a compact pico-ITX embedded board supporting 6th generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3 & Celeron processors (code name: Skylake). The PICO500 supports one 260-pin DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM slot with up to 16 GB system memory capacity. Its pico-ITX form factor offers a solution for a compact performance system; meanwhile, the industrial motherboard is built to withstand wide temperature conditions ranging from -20°C to +70°C (-4°F to +158°F) with active thermal solution.
The PICO500 is compatible with two optional I/O boards; the AX93275 and AX93276 for additional HD audio, USB 3.0, PCIe x1, DDI, and UARTs interfaces. One HDMI and LVDS with Intel integrated GFX graphic engine delivers Ultra HD 4K display support. The compact-size 6th generation Intel Core-based pico-ITX motherboard is a perfect fit for vehicle PCs, small media entertainment systems, industrial automation systems, medical imaging, gaming, and other Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) designs.
The PICO500 comes with advanced connectivity including one USB 2.0 ports, one gigabit Ethernet, HD audio, HDMI, and 18/24-bit single/dual channel LVDS. The embedded board comes with one full-size PCI Express Mini Card on the rear side. Its storage interfaces include an SATA HDD and mSATA support on the PCI Express Mini Card slot. To ensure reliable operation, the small form factor embedded board supports watchdog timer and hardware monitoring. This embedded SBC runs well with Windows 8.1 and 10 operating systems. Hence, the industrial-grade embedded pico-ITX motherboard also supports Intel AMT 11 technology for better remote management (on Intel Core i7 & i5 processor only).
