April 7, 2015 - Exele Information Systems announced TopView 6.20 with SNMP Trap Alarm Messaging. SNMP Traps are unsolicited alarm messages sent by devices (agents) on the network to an SNMP Manager within an IT monitoring infrastructure. TopView can now act as an SNMP agent that can send SNMP Trap messages for TopView alarms.
In addition to TopView’s existing alarm messaging and notification capabilities, it now integrates fully customizable SNMP trap messages based on process alarms or SQL events to an SNMP Manager.
“This new capability bridges process alarms and SQL events with an existing IT monitoring infrastructure“ said Dane Overfield, Product Manager. “TopView’s SNMP trap alarm messaging has been well received by IT Managers and Data Centers. We’ve provided built-in support for a feature that some of our customers were trying to create with custom interfacing solutions.” noted Overfield.
