July 31, 2014 - Hilscher releases cifX PCI fieldbus card that supports two independent Fieldbus communication channels in just one PCI slot. The 2-channel cards provide significant advantages, especially in applications where the number of PCI slots is limited, such as in compact box-type PCs and embedded computers. The user can choose from any of the leading Fieldbus systems: PROFIBUS, CANopen, and DeviceNet. Models are available for two PROFIBUS channels, two DeviceNet channels, and two CANopen channels, as well as all combinations: PROFIBUS and DeviceNet; PROFIBUS and CANopen; and CANopen and DeviceNet. Due to loadable firmware and software licenses, the same hardware can alternatively be used as Double-Master or as Double-Slave. Common to all of the cards is an extended temperature range from -20° C to +70° C, as well as a reliable address allocation at the PCI bus via a rotary switch. All 2-Channel cifX cards use the same application interface and data exchange will be done via Dual-Port-Memory or DMA. A complete software package is included in the scope of delivery.
